HOLIDAY JAR TOPPER CROCHET PATTERNS free
JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!!!
For the past week or so I have been drawing the faces on painted jars that we are making for an event we are having at work. We plan to fill those with a sort of Whooville flower arrangement (really cute idea that we found on Pinterest). But since I am ME!! I decided that I should make one with a crocheted Santa hat! And that led to making the Frosty top-hat. I used recycled jars (my Grandma Lair would be so proud!!), painted (more like poured and swirled) the insides of the jars. Then I drew the faces on free-hand while looking at pictures that I found by googling Grinch and Frosty "coloring book pages". Drawing the faces is easier than it seems. They are drawn on with SHARPIE MARKER!!!! That is the beauty of painting the inside of the jar....it leaves the smooth glass surface. IF you make a mistake, just use a little hand sanitizer to wipe it clean and start over. They also make lovely toppers on clear glass jars filled with your homemade candies, cookies and hot chocolate mix. Top them with one of these cute hats and TADA!!! Instant Gift!!!!
There are TWO options for the BRIM of the Santa Hat. The first option uses one strand of bulky yarn and is done in simple single crochet. The second option uses worsted weight/size 4/medium and is worked up in a small popcorn stitch.
